Character And Wisdom Quotes

by

Though these may not ‘fit in’ with the category of ‘Business Communication Tools’ I wanted to add these quotes. I unashamedly love quotes and find them very powerful and thought provoking. When I have spare time I often find myself looking for them. The fact that some people are able create such power from, sometimes, just a handful of words, make them awe inspiring to me. I hope you enjoy them, as I do, and come back and read them often too. Here I look at those which fall into the category of ‘Character and Wisdom’.

I have ‘grouped’ them by author and underneath each group I provide a link where you can find out more information about the author. Enjoy

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Poem by William Henley
